Unstoppable Momentum

Written by Todd Strandberg of Rapture Ready.com 1 Sep 2014

Unstoppable Momentum
We are living in the days of what can be called Unstoppable Momentum, where most things with a connection to the last days are in a state of relentless advancement. It’s like watching a massive avalanche that overwhelms everything in its path.
It wasn't always this way. Back in the 1980s, I remember the devil having a much harder time at corrupting the morals of a nation. The general pattern was two steps forward and one step back. The long-term trend was down, but occasionally there would be periods of reform.
The forces of darkness mostly had to operate in a stealthful manner. Any politician who would dare speak positively of sins like recreational drug use, homosexual marriage, and abortion, could instantly find himself in hot water.
Back then, moral watchdog groups had a powerful influence over America. In one campaign, they used their sway to convince several retail outlets to stop selling adult magazines. During a four year period, from 1982 to 1986, they were able to end the sale of porn magazines in 28,000 locations. During that time period, Playboy had a 35 percent decline in its total circulation.
Today, there are no Christian moral crusaders of any significant stature. The Moral Majority, Focus on the Family, Christian Coalition, National Federation for Decency, and Roman Catholic Bishops are either defunct or they are a shadow of their former selves. We live in a time so corrupted the CEO of a company can get himself into hot water for just expressing the Bible’s view of morality. Two years ago, Dan Cathy, president Chick-fil-A, was involved in a huge media storm when it was learned that he gave money to organizations fighting same-sex marriage and supporting heterosexual ones.
Here are three example of Unstoppable Momentum grabbed from today’s headlines:
1. The heavy handed tactics by the Ferguson, Missouri police has many people wondering about the militarization of the police. The image of cops with assault rifles on top of vehicles that were designed to survive attacks from mines and .50 caliber weapons generated a huge amount of media coverage.
The absurdity of heavy armament in the hands of small town police motivated Reason TV to mockingly ask: “OH. YOU THINK YOUR TOWN’S TOO SMALL FOR A TANK? Got a strawberry festival? You need a tank. Having music in the park? You need a tank. Got a community theater production of Twelfth Night? You needeth a tank, good sir.”
Unfortunately, there is no indication that common sense is going to prevail. The White House said it would review the 1033 Program, the post 9/11 program that allows the Pentagon to give civilian police military weapons, but it’s unlikely there will be any policy change. The media quickly brushed aside all concerns, by saying the police needed these weapons to fight the war on drugs and terror.
2. One of the most troubling signs of Unstoppable Momentum is President Obama’s continuous effort to overstep his Constitutional authority by going around Congress. Like a hungry predator probing his prey’s weaknesses, Obama has been crafting legal rationales to allow him to seize more power. The other day I read he was going around Congress by working with the UN to forge an international climate change agreement that would compel nations to cut their carbon emissions. Anyone who dares to call out Obama’s treasonous actions is either laughed at or ignored.
3. The hostilities between Israel and Hamas is also an example of Unstoppable Momentum. Even though the fighting has come to an end, there is no resolution to the conflict. Israel killed several top Hamas military commanders, hundreds of buildings in Gaza were destroyed, and more than 2,100 Palestinians died, and yet this terrorist organization thinks it achieved victory over the Jewish state. I’m sure the only priority in the minds of Hamas leaders is how to get more rockets.
The timing of the Rapture and the Tribulation hour are totally in God’s hands. The Lord did say we would be able know that the end was near by observing the signs. Since it seems unlikely there will be any pause in prophetic progression, the end of all things should rapidly come our way.
“So likewise ye, when ye shall see all these things, know that it is near, even at ... This generation shall not pass, till all these things be fulfilled” (Matthew 24:33-34).

Divorce...Does Jesus Allow Remarriage?

Divorce...Does Jesus Allow Remarriage?

Here is what God says about 'putting away'.   Mal 2:16 For the LORD, the God of Israel, saith that he hateth putting away: for one covereth violence with his garment, saith the LORD of hosts: therefore take heed to your spirit, that ye deal not treacherously. God says, 'putting away' is like taking a man, killing him, letting all his blood drip on his coat, then taking that coat off and wearing it around for the rest of your life. That's what God likens divorce to. Now I ask, are there grounds for such actions ever? I do not believe so, this is why we say, 'for better for worse....till death'. You really need to be very careful Carol, not to make excuses where God himself never makes them.  We will just have to agree to disagree from here. God's Word is VERY redundant.  He repeats Himself time and again and again and again.  Regarding 'suffered you to divorce'....that's how they used to talk.  'Could I suffer you to get me a cup of coffee'.  People talked like that when KJV was written.  If you read on in Mark 10, you will see that AFTER the Phariesees said what they did, the disciples then said, "Lord, if the case with woman be so, then it is better NOT TO MARRY!" Even the Disciples got it...that Jesus was saying that marriage is permanent.  So Permanent that you can't divorce for any reason, ever.  That's why he took them back to creation and not Moses law.

Waiting for a Wayward Spouse Divorce, Remarriage and Adultery

Waiting for a Wayward Spouse   Divorce, Remarriage and Adultery

Some people say that God would not ask us to wait for a wayward spouse. Does God tell us to do hard things? Yes, He does. And in telling us to do these hard things, He is telling us...there is no remarriage.

We always must minister to people to be READY AND WAITING TO RECONCILE true covenant marriages if we teach anything else we are on the side of keeping covenant spouses apart..

Won't Repenting from an adulterous remarriage cause more divorce?

Won't Repenting from an adulterous remarriage cause more divorce?

This truly is the big elephant in the room that everyone tries to avoid seeing. Just as not all marriages are lawful marriages, not all divorces are lawful divorces. In the situation of remarriage, divorce is really nothing but repenting of adultery.

Ezra 10 is an example of divorce in the form of repentance. God was going to pour his wrath on them if they didn't 'put away' their wives and some of them had children with them. God does not hate all divorce...for there are many 'unlawful' marriages out there like Herod and Herodias (which just fyi...were not counciled to stay together). Again, however, we have the New Testament...we are called to live above reproach. I'm not sure if you watched Craig's video, it was very good. And the article that caused him to make that video was the athiest who calls out us 'Christians' who speak out against certain sins such as homosexuality, but say nothing about adultery in the form of remarriages

Does Deut 24:1-4 Forbid The Return of a Former Spouse?

Does Deut 24:1-4 Forbid The Return of a Former Spouse?

When a person is trying to keep separate what God has joined, they are in DIRECT OPPOSITION to the commandment of God Himself...a very dangerous position to be in. God clearly says that what HE has joined, let not man separate. This truth did not live up to scrutinty when the Pharisees brought it before Jesus. Jesus rebuked them. HE did NOT say, "Yes, that's true, lets apply it to today. IF you are remarried...stay as you are"....He called 'remarriage' time and again...'adultery' which is what we should continue to call it. He raised the bar as He always does. Jesus clearly said that Moses allowed this because of the hardness of their hearts, and from the beginning it was not so....and Jesus then took them back to creation. Be sure to read Matthew 19:3-12.

Mt 19:3 The Pharisees also came unto him, tempting him, and saying unto him, Is it lawful for a man to put away his wife for every cause? 4 And he answered and said unto them, Have ye not read, that he which made them at the beginning made them male and female, 5 And said, For this cause shall a man leave father and mother, and shall cleave to his wife: and they twain shall be one flesh? 6 Wherefore they are no more twain, but one flesh. What therefore God hath joined together, let not man put asunder. 7 They say unto him, Why did Moses then command to give a writing of divorcement, and to put her away? 8 He saith unto them, Moses because of the hardness of your hearts suffered you to put away your wives: but from the beginning it was not so. 9 And I say unto you, Whosoever shall put away his wife, except it be for fornication, and shall marry another, committeth adultery: and whoso marrieth her which is put away doth commit adultery. 10 His disciples say unto him, If the case of the man be so with his wife, it is not good to marry. (Have you ever wondered why the Disciples(this was not even the Pharasies...it was the Disciples response) respond like this? Because THIS is how permenant marriage truly is....so permenant that you cannot divorce for any reason....and so they thougtht it better not to marry.) 11 But he said unto them, All men cannot receive this saying, save they to whom it is given. 12 For there are some eunuchs, which were so born from their mother's womb: and there are some eunuchs, which were made eunuchs of men: (when a person is put away, they have been 'made a eunuch by men. They are called to live in the service of the King for the Kingdom of Heaven's Sake. This is their only option. Remarriage is not an option, and if it is the case, repentance of it must take place.) and there be eunuchs, which have made themselves eunuchs for the kingdom of heaven's sake.

Argument #3 continued. Deut24:1-4 do not allow the return of a wife to her husband. One woman I know personally was widowed young and remarried a divorced man but always had a check in her heart. Nothing unusual happened in their relationship...God just took the scales off her eyes. She wrote this. "If I had never taken another woman's husband, he would never have been divorced once (as they were only separated for six years, her living in adultery with another man) let alone twice. She is on her own now, never having remarried. So now they too are both out of adultery. What great wickedness the Lord has granted me repentance of, and forgiveness at the cost of His life saving blood. Please Lord, apply your precious redemption to our broken lives and be greatly glorified; making straight the way of the Lord... "

David was condemned for his adultery, and for his polygamy, but never for taking Michal back (and Michal was actively remarried), because she was his covenant wife. De 17:17 Neither shall he multiply wives to himself, that his heart turn not away: neither shall he greatly multiply to himself silver and gold.
2Sa 3:14 And David sent messengers to Ishbosheth Saul's son, saying, Deliver me my wife Michal, which I espoused to me for an hundred foreskins of the Philistines.
1Sa 25:44 But Saul had given Michal his daughter, David's wife, to Phalti the son of Laish, which was of Gallim.
What about Hosea and Gomer? What Hosea condemned? Was he committing an abomination for bringing Gomer back? Just because this is a 'picture' of God and Isreal does not mean it didn't happen in real life, and it should have the same application...these were real people and this was a real marriage.
What about God and Isreal? Although He divorced her, He CLEARLY is not finished with her..and He will bring her unto Him again.....Is God committing an abomination?

DIVORCE REMARRIAGE: Must We Repent of a Remarriage God Calls 'Adultery'?

DIVORCE REMARRIAGE:

Must We Repent of a Remarriage God

Calls 'Adultery'?

For my children, please remember marriage is for life or remain single. Those are the only options. One thing I forgot to mention: If I am going to tell someone to stay in a relationship God calls 'adultery' then I MUST be able from Gods Word to show those same people where in the Bible God stops calling it adultery and where He changes the label of adultery on that relationship to the label marriage.
