MANY WONDER ARE YOU MARRIED FOR LIFE? Scriptures....1 Corinthians 7:10-11

MANY WONDER ARE YOU MARRIED FOR LIFE? Scriptures...

Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. Love never fails.  1 Corinthians 13:4-8a

To the married I give this command (not I, but the Lord): A wife must not separate from her husband. But if she does, she must remain unmarried or else be reconciled to her husband. And a husband must not divorce his wife.

“The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.”  John 10:10

Romans 13:11-14

Read and reflect. These are a few scriptures that show the things that are very displeasing to God.
We are to be a people separated from the practices of the world, but we are put in the world to be a light. We are also to be salt. If we cover our light, how will we shine? And if the salt loses its saltines, how is it to be made salty again? (See Matthew 5:13-16.)
Scripture references using the English Standard Version
Galatians 5:19-21
Now the works of the flesh are evident: sexual immorality, impurity, sensuality,20 idolatry, sorcery, enmity, strife, jealousy, fits of anger, rivalries, dissensions, divisions, 21 envy, drunkenness, orgies, and things like these. I warn you, as I warned you before, that those who do such things will not inherit the kingdom of God.
Deuteronomy 18:10-12
“There shall not be found among you anyone who burns his son or his daughter as an offering, anyone who practices divination or tells fortunes or interprets omens, or a sorcerer 11 or a charmer or a medium or a necromancer or one who inquires of the dead12 for whoever does these things is an abomination to the Lord.”
Leviticus 19:26b, 31
“You shall not interpret omens or tell fortunes. 31Do not turn to mediums or necromancers; do not seek them out, and so make yourselves unclean by them: I am the Lord your God.”
Leviticus 20:6,7
“If a person turns to mediums and necromancers, whoring after them, I will set my face against that person and will cut him off from among his people. 7 Consecrate yourselves, therefore, and be holy, for I am the Lord your God.”
Leviticus 20:27
“A man or a woman who is a medium or a necromancer shall surely be put to death. They shall be stoned with stones; their blood shall be upon them.”
Exodus 22:18
“You shall not permit a sorceress to live.”
Ephesians 4:20-24
But that is not the way you learned Christ!— 21 assuming that you have heard about him and were taught in him, as the truth is in Jesus, 22 to put off your old self, which belongs to your former manner of life and is corrupt through deceitful desires, 23 and to be renewed in the spirit of your minds, 24 and to put on the new self, created after the likeness of God in true righteousness and holiness.
Romans 13:11-14
Besides this you know the time, that the hour has come for you to wake from sleep. For salvation is nearer to us now than when we first believed. 12 The night is far gone; the day is at hand. So then let us cast off the works of darkness and put on the armor of light. 13 Let us walk properly as in the daytime, not in orgies and drunkenness, not in sexual immorality and sensuality, not in quarreling and jealousy. 14 But put on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make no provision for the flesh, to gratify its desires.

Be You! Repent & Turn Today without further delay!

Dig it out

Filled with the Holy Spirit Acts 9:1

Filled with the Holy Spirit

"Then Ananias went to the house and entered it. Placing his hands on Saul, he said, 'Brother Saul, the Lord-Jesus, who appeared to you on the road as you were coming here-has sent me so that you may see again and be filled with the Holy Spirit'" (Acts 9:1).
Billy Graham, the great evangelist, shared a personal story about the role of the Holy Spirit in his life-long ministry and how he came to see the importance of being filled with the Holy Spirit.
In my own life there have been times when I have also had the sense of being filled with the Spirit, knowing that some special strength was added for some task I was being called to perform. We sailed for England in 1954 for a crusade that was to last for three months. While on the ship, I experienced a definite sense of oppression. Satan seemed to have assembled a formidable array of his artillery against me. Not only was I oppressed, I was overtaken by a sense of depression, accomplished by a frightening feeling of inadequacy for the task that lay ahead. Almost night and day I prayed. I knew in a new way what Paul was telling us when he spoke about 'praying without ceasing.' Then one day in a prayer meeting with my wife and colleagues, a break came. As I wept before the Lord, I was filled with deep assurance that power belonged to God and He was faithful. I had been baptized by the Spirit into the Body of Christ when I was saved, but I believe God gave me a special anointing on the way to England. From that moment on I was confident that God the Holy Spirit was in control for the tasks that lay ahead. That proved true.*
As a believer, God has provided the Holy Spirit for you and I so that we can experience the power of the gospel that allows us to live the Christian life.
Today, if you have not done so, invite the Holy Spirit to fill your life to overflowing so that you can be a witness in your workplace, city and nation.

Stand at Attention! Lev. 10:10 Go deeper: Leviticus 9-10; Mark 11:27-12:12; Psalm 29

Stand at Attention!

"Distinguish between the holy and the common, between the unclean and the clean" (Lev. 10:10 NIV). Go deeper: Leviticus 9-10; Mark 11:27-12:12; Psalm 29
We have lived in two cities each with a huge military contingency—San Diego, CA, and El Paso, TX—one Navy city and one Army town. In El Paso, I taught school on the post, and I couldn’t even pass the Ft. Bliss post gate without the appropriate sticker on my car. When the MPs saw it, they saluted, and I drove on through. In the military there are procedures to follow and rank to be respected. That’s the military way, and every buck private learns in short order that the military way is to be strictly followed.
We cherish an image of our loving heavenly father. It’s warm and it’s good and it’s comforting. He is indeed all those things and more. God does, though, have standards and protocols that we’re expected to respect. Nadab and Abihu, Aaron’s sons, neglected to obey God’s dictated plan of sacrifices, and they paid with their lives for their disregard of the holy. God admonished Aaron and his other sons with words we could heed today, you must distinguish between the holy and the common (Lev. 10:10).
God’s house; holy communion; marriage; store house tithing; corporate worship—on and on the list continues—are all things God expects us to respect. This is a day of the casual, and that’s not all bad. We can become too casual, though, with the things of God and treat them with mundane and run-of-the-mill superficiality.
Psalms 29 is a great contrast to Nadab and Abihu and perhaps the 21st century worshipper.Ascribe to the Lord the glory due his name; worship the Lord in the splendor of his holiness(Psalm 29:2). The Message translation shouts:Stand at Attention! That says it all. Pay attention to God’s customs and commandments. It’s not our duty; it’s our responsibility.
Who’s your commander?
