God Hates Divorce

Malachi 2:16

"For I hate divorce," says the LORD, the God of Israel, "and him who covers his garment with wrong," says the LORD of hosts. "So take heed to your spirit, that you do not deal treacherously."
Did you know that Divorce is not only the biggest destroyer of families but is also the biggest murderer of humans in this world? Divorce does not only kill people emotionally or spiritually it also kills people physically.

This evil is more contagious than Aids; it’s more destructive than any world wars the world ever faced. And most of us don’t even care; we cut our losses and see if the next person will satisfy us. Meanwhile there is a heavy war going on in the spiritual and slowly but surely satan is taking people captive to do his will and poisoning our society. I heard a preacher once preaching that if we as a church, is not going to stand and fight with God for our marriages, at the rate we are going, marriage will be disposable.
My dear reader I think we are at that stage, people are now divorcing left right and center, here in South Africa currently they are making divorce so convenient that you can do it at home over the internet ,its called E Divorce. Shocking! what had happened? Where is our commitment to God and our spouse, but to understand what is going on around us we must go back a few generation.
At the beginning the Lord made Adam and Eve and He said:

Ephesians 5:31

FOR THIS REASON A MAN SHALL LEAVE HIS FATHER AND MOTHER AND SHALL BE JOINED TO HIS WIFE, AND THE TWO SHALL BECOME ONE FLESH.

The Pharisees also questioned Jesus about divorce and this is what He said:

Mathew 19:1 - 8

1 And it came to pass, that when Jesus had finished these sayings, he departed from Galilee, and came into the coasts of Judaea beyond Jordan; 2 And great multitudes followed him; and he healed them there.3 The Pharisees also came unto him, tempting him, and saying unto him, Is it lawful for a man to put away his wife for every cause?

4 And he answered and said unto them, Have ye not read, that he which made them at the beginning made them male and female, 5 And said, For this cause shall a man leave father and mother, and shall cleave to his wife: and they twain shall be one flesh? 6 Wherefore they are no more twain, but one flesh. What therefore God hath joined together, let not man put asunder. 7 They say unto him, Why did Moses then command to give a writing of divorcement, and to put her away? 8 He saith unto them, Moses because of the hardness of your hearts suffered you to put away your wives: but from the beginning it was not so.

The Lord made a standard, meaning that marriage was forever TILL DEATH DO US PART. I always say if the Lord puts something in the bible there is a good reason for it. Like every generation we let small things creep into our church, allowing the enemy to gain ground one small step at a time. Think for yourself, if every generation lowered God’s standard with an inch how low will that standard get after a few 1000 years, calculate all those inches, you will be surprised.

And now were feeling that effect of no one standing up for Gods standards. South Africa is known in the Southern hemisphere as the BABYLON of Divorce.

"The US began keeping fairly careful statistics on divorce beginning in 1867. From 1867-1929, the number of divorces steadily increased, from 9,937 in 1867, to 201,468 in 1929."

During this time, the population of the US increased from 37 to 122 million, so the divorce rate per 100,000 population increased six fold, from 26.8 to 165.
