Home Calling of Val Hartong September 13, 2014

Stephen Wilcox's photo.Home Calling of Val Hartong

From Funeral Home Notice:

Mrs. Valette Eileen (Eppley) Hartong, age 85, of Sturgis, MI, went to be with Jesus, Saturday, September 13, 2014, at her home.
She was born October 13, 1928, in Wabash, IN, daughter of Garl and Alice (Speicher) Eppley.

I am both saddened and joyous that Val has gone Home. She was a most wondrously happy woman who stood for the restoration of her marriage, and as a result, helped healing thousand of marriages. Countless others were indirectly helped by those who were influenced by their love. I am one of them.

One of the first people I am going to look for is Val. She will be shining as the sun. Praise God for her life and the exponentially exploding good she did. This little ministry I am involved in was, in part, a direct result of their personal encouragement and support.

In 1982, Dana and Valette founded the ministry New Hope for Broken Marriages and co-authored a book by the same title which continues to touch lives throughout the world. Valette continued actively counseling over the phone until her
final days. Beginning with the first couple in 1979 until the 5,000th in 2014, Valette prayed monthly for every couple, which included requests from 49 states and over 30 countries.
