ISIS (Islamic State in Iraq and Syria) is now marking their homes and property with this ‘N’, or ن which is an Arabic abbreviation for "Christian". Christians in the Iraqi city of Mosul are being forced to either - convert to Islam, pay a fine - or be executed for following Jesus. The ن marks their property to be seized after the ultimatum.
